An Energy Efficient house typically uses 20-30 % less energy than a standard house. It also greatly decreases the percentage of heat loss escaping through the buildings fabrics.

At Passive House Builders, we use DEAP (Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure) software to design Energy Efficient houses. This software ensures we comply with building regulations and enables us to produce a building energy rating cert (BER) for the house on completion of the project.
DEAP software is carefully designed to ensure a building complies with Kotyo Protocol which results in reduced CO2 emissions in the building. While the building fabric is assessed in the software it is possible to achieve an A1 rating by using bolt on renewable technologies (e.g. windmill, photovoltaic panels, heat pumps etc).
